Catkin Loop Fine Rustic Furniture captures the beauty of the tree with log rounds and live edge wood. Each piece combines natural tree rounds with some machined surfaces to display the beauty of the grain. We use only indigenous, sustainable British Columbia hardwoods to make our log furniture – red alder, broadleaf maple and paper birch. Wood is nature’s most organic building material, and we strive to capture the essence of the tree’s true nature in all our finely crafted log and rustic furniture.

Natural bent log legs with ‘deer foot’ ends support the triangle top of this alder log end table.

All Catkin Loop log and rustic furniture designs are made to be comfortable and functional. The proportions and angles of the furniture have been carefully determined so each piece is not only designed to highlight the natural features of the wood, but designed to be used. Our designs have a number of inspirations, with the log furniture mirroring the simple yet functional styles of Arts and Crafts, Mission and Modern, and taking inspiration from the form and shape of the tree and the flow of the live edge. The log furniture made by Catkin Loop has a look that is often called rustic, but there is nothing rustic about the construction – joints are mortis and tenon and all parts are made from local BC hardwood. Catkin Loop furniture is very durable and will last for many generations.
